ACLC was the perfect school for me. I needed a relaxed environment and individualized attention. The opportunities that ACLC provided me have made me a better person in all aspects of life. From the seventh grade to my senior year, ACLC has been my second home. Now I am a more functional person with less social anxiety and more confidence. I have learned the basics needed to go to college, get a job, and live without my parents.

My personal qualities have changed since the seventh grade. I used to be easily influenced and very gullible. Now I know to scrutinize information and look for a reliable source before I believe something. My work habits have improved. I have learned to schedule when I’m going to do certain homework at school. I don’t wait until the last minute. I know that I will need to audition a lot to get where I want to be. I know I will need to deal with having a job I don’t want so I will get where I want to be in the long run. At ACLC, I have learned Spanish, history, mathematics, writing, reading, and all of the other necessary basics. Each class has helped me hone each skill. I can proficiently write, read, analyze, and communicate. I am punctual and I turned in my work on time.

The amount of group work and collaboration necessary in ACLC has been very effective in teaching me how to work with others. Group work is actually very complicated and difficult to organize. Different types of people fall into different roles in a group. I have learned to always do my part and makes sure other people do their part as well. My thinking skills and reasoning have improved at ACLC through repetitive work and thought provoking lessons. I know how to see everyone’s point of view, to visualize, and to form theories.

I am fluent and patient when it comes to technology. I know how to make a PowerPoint, a word document, and a web page. I can type quickly and write essays in MLA format. When something goes wrong with a computer, I know how to look for the source of the problem. I practice the ethic of backing up my work, whether it be on email or a flash drive. I apply my awareness to technology in almost every assignment.

Because of ACLC, I have basic knowledge of how to function in the real world. I have met and exceeded the requirements of the Graduate Outcomes. I am thankful to ACLC for providing me the environment that I needed to grow up peacefully and functionally.
